WINNER and Lead Video – Never Satisfied
I have explored the idea of buck time - lapse with a tenacious fourth dimension friend and talented artist who manoeuver under the false name of NEVER ( aka Never Satisfied ) in Atlanta , Georgia . Never has been out of mission recently due to knee surgery be by a nasty staphylococci transmission . While only partially recovered , he tally to take for the time - lapse challenge . The artwork is style “ The rent is too damn gamy ” and sport a beg bird of Minerva with droopy , drug induce eyes ( dictate pain killers ) . The inspiration for this creature came as a issue of Never being in so much suffering due to his human knee surgical procedure along with his recent flat hunt in NYC where he will be relocating later this calendar month .
To complete the challenge , I progress a team consisting of my occupation better half and Colorado - founder @ UpThink , Erik Huber , along with fellow lensman Jeremy Stephenson . Michael Wynne generously volunteer his time to create an original piece of music for the project . Once we had the man power , all we postulate was a secure locating to capture Never . We picked a location in NW Atlanta at an abandoned warehouse that ’s far off the grid . This spot has been a front-runner of mine in late years due to mystifying tyre dumpers fill up the quad . It ’s an environmental disappointment to know that all this rubber is being plunge by someone and I personally do not condone those activities . However , the huge sea of tires offered us a unparalleled visual perspective for this project . To help portray the pass time during the Clarence Shepard Day Jr. via visible ignitor electron beam , we hike up into the locating with a 1k generator and hazer . The visible light created by the hazer combined with the constantly change wind flow rate through the outer space really play the location to life . We shot bracketed birthday suit exposures , but steered off from using any HDRs in the last video in an cause to not get caught up in the overly pure tone - mapped trend amongst photographers these days . The bracketed exposures allowed us more exemption in post to create some variation within the edit . We shot with longer exposures ( 4 - 13 endorsement ) to emphasize the movement with gesture fuzz . This side - project was a tidy sum of playfulness for everyone affect . We did have a few technical issues during the shoot — such as getting our gas can ( full of throttle ) stolen , the generator flood mid - shoot , the 12v battery used with the Dynamic Perception dolly rig failed , and we ran out of sparkle just as the artwork was being finished . Time and Space
Rather than shoot one splendid 45 2d time - lapse with my 5D , I decide to carry around my GoPro and shoot as many potential moments of my life-time , then mob them all together into one ocular barrage . With no LCD or viewfinder on your photographic camera , much less any manual scope , its sluttish to set it up and do a quick lapse on the go . Its also much easy to hang out window or put in compressed space .
paradigm sequences were converted to ProRes Quicktimes using After effect , edited in Premiere Pro , and back to After personal effects for grading and adding the title .

I came up with the theme of shootingtime lapseof far-famed clocks around New York City at the same time over several days . It stop up being a piffling hoaxer than I had originally contrive due to uncooperative atmospheric condition , scheduling and clocks .

Giant Dipper
Had some good weather so my protagonist and I went to Santa Cruz , CA to shoot . Had to sneak my camera on the Giant Dipper to get the stab ( they tell me to keep it under my crown ) . A lot tougher to hold it still than I thought it would be so some of the snapshot are n’t perfect but whatever .
