A Severed Hand Searches for Its Body in an Award-Winning Netflix Animated Film

The new animated picture show I Lost My dead body tells two parallel taradiddle . One is of a disembodied hand that somehow revive , hightail it a lab , and ventures out into the world to attempt to find its possessor . The other is of a pizza pie delivery boy name Naoufel whose biography , frankly , lactate . We assume the hand is Naoufel ’s but he has two hand in the report . And so start this poignant , mysterious adventure .

I did end up catch I Lost My Bodyat Fantastic Fest and my thoughtson the movie were … complicated . It ’s a gorgeous movie , filled with telling animation and exciting scenario . The parallel storytelling is also quite interesting , with the hand easy remembering its past and the flick playing with your preconceptions of what should and should n’t happen . at last though , Naoufel ’s half of the story is way more prevailing than the deal ’s , and though he ’s a very sympathetic , well - meaning character , he ’s but not as interesting as a disembodied hand . Which , aboveboard , who would be ? So watching the picture , I found myself hold back for more hand as Naoufel ’s evenhandedly recognizable tale played out .

Of course , the two stories do terminate up link up by the ending and Clapin leaves the audience think about some huge sprightliness moral , which is rewarding . However , the imbalance along the way does drag the film back a lilliputian .

All of that said , if you love living , or any films in thesevered - hand - walks- aroundsubgenre , you will certainly enjoy I recede My dead body . Again , it come to Netflix on November 29 , after a limited theatrical liberation November 15 .
