In its quest to make computing machine devilishly slim , Apple has been looking into means to make exist keyboards even thin . Apatent revealed this weekshows it might be possible to flinch size , but who knows what it could do to performance .
cover by Apple Insider , the patent identify how keyboard could be made thinner while attempting to wield serviceability .
One of Apple ’s result is a single financial backing lever keyboard chemical mechanism . The system , it ’s suggest , would stand for keys with a total travel range of as small as 0.2 millimeters . give the phone number of complaints I see about key travel on keyboards , I ’m not sure how well that would work .

It also suggests that keys could be made of any textile , listing possible materials that could be used as glass , wood , stone , and even “ refined meteorite . ” I really , really want a keyboard made of polished meteorite .
Another solution suggest that the keys could be flexible , as in the double above , with a sprung lever to provide a positive impression while typing . One of the positive points here , according to the patent , is that it would reduce the tapping sounds that keyboards presently make .
While these concept might make for slimmer keyboards , I ’m skeptical as to whether they ’d help with my typewriting . [ Apple Insider ]
