The news that AntiSec hacker had leak a million Apple UDIDs onto the internet was metfirst with concern , followed swiftly by suspicion . While the situation fleetly degenerate into a he order / FBI said , the one interested party who had continue still on the issue was Apple itself . Until now .

The confusion settle down in after the FBI softly denied that the UDIDs came from one of its laptop computer , as the hackers had claimed . Apple , speaking with AllThingsD today , backed up the feds :
“ The FBI has not requested this selective information from Apple , nor have we provided it to the FBI or any organization . Additionally , with iOS 6 we innovate a new stage set of genus Apis meant to substitute the utilization of the UDID and will soon be shun the enjoyment of UDID . ”
NOTHING TO SEE HERE move RIGHT ALONG UDIDS ARE DEAD ANYWAY WHY ARE WE EVEN babble out ABOUT THIS STILL YA KNOW ? And so on .
Which is good to know ! But does n’t get us any closer to understanding where all those UDIDs did come from , or how Apple might help protect people from their vulnerability now and not just in iOS 6 .
