He ’s been rumored to be in the running for a while now , but apparently Joe Cornish — director of the British scifi run into Attack the Block and co - author of the CG Tintin moving picture and Edgar Wright ’s upcoming Ant - Man film — is Paramount ’s # 1 choice to take over directing duties for the Star Trek picture show dealership .
presently , Cornish is busy adapting Snow Crash for the sieve , but he ’s doing that for Paramount , who could easy enquire him to put it on cargo area for Star Trek 3 — which I assume they would have to do if they need to meet the picture show ’s hoped-for production start day of the month of summertime 2014 .
What do you hombre think ? I did n’t think Attack the Block was perfect , but it was quite estimable , and I ’d sleep with to see what Cornish would do with Trek and a gigantic budget . The solution would be interesting , if nothing else .
