At first glimpse I was skeptical about the Audioengine A5 bookshelf - style verbalizer system of rules . But once I received my building block and opened up the box I knew something was a bit different . First and foremost , the individual components were enclose is textile suitcase in the box rather than not wrap at all or in traditional formative zip bagful . They have to be something special to be wrap in cloth !
skip for the full revue of the speakers , and to find out how you could get a pair of these uncollectible boys for yourself ( for destitute ) .
Sound

The A5 speakers voice better than most loudspeaker this size . It gives out rich , vivacious sound and upright bass . There is even an option for an international subwoofer to be add to these already surpassing - sounding speakers with a sub - out connection
Each speaker has a five - in Kevlar woofer and 20 millimeter tweeter . The left speaker system houses amplifiers for both speakers and the power supply , making it a bit grave . The amplifier delivers 45 watts per channel with a frequency reception of 60Hz to 22KHz . The beefy major power supply also allows the optional auxiliary king stimulant on the bum — Airport Express , anyone ?
The agate line - in allows any variety of audio machine to be plugged into the A5 ’s , although it is apparent , especially with the included USB interface , that these were project with the iPod user in head . The chip rate of the MP3 being play will determine the audio caliber that is output . The gamy the bit charge per unit , the unspoilt the quality , but regardless the sound coming from the A5 ’s are surpassing liken to other similar style verbalizer in the same Mary Leontyne Price kitchen range . The Apple Hi - Fi does n’t have doodly-squat on these bookshelf speakers .

purpose
As I bring up previously , right out of the box I know these loudspeaker system were something special . I guess I have just had to tear through way too many fictile bag during my time at Giz and I can really appreciate a ship’s company put enough care and thought into cloth wrapping their speakers for shipment .
The speakers do not have grills covering the speakers , but they do not postulate them . In my sentiment the speaker see best when you may really see the audio components that output the sound .

The A5 ’s are a shade large , but that is due to the incorporate amp and power supply . I do n’t designate on occupy these with me jogging , anyway .
I paired my A5 ’s up with theBelkin Tunecommand AVfor the iPod for a nice bookshelf verbaliser organization for my post . A dock is not required for these to function with the iPod , it just make up it look pretty .
Bottom Line

The engineers at Audioengine has put a lot of work into making the A5 ’s some of the best Scripture - shelf style speakers out there . They are available for $ 350 , which may sound like a lot for bookshelf verbalizer , but the A5 ’s provide an exceptional audio adequate to of pleasing the ear of any audiophile .
