Perhaps hoping the bad news would get bury in presidential inaugural mania , Heartland Payment Systems yesterday announce the uncovering of a piece of malicious software buried in their processing organisation . The malware gave somebody ( or something ? ) accession to credit menu numbers prompt through Heartland ’s web . Potentially millions of credit notice user are affected , because Heartland supplies credit entry card processing to close to 250,000 job across the United States .
The company made its announcement on a special website designed just for the occasion , called2008 Breach . Though personal information seems unmoved , the hoi polloi who make the malware and put it on Heartland ’s web may have been snarfing up millions of legit mention wag number .
