M3Gan , Get Out , The Conjuringmovies , theParanormal Activityfranchise , so much more — Blumhouse Productions has proven itself a victor of creating incredibly democratic , while still comparatively low - budget , horror stories on the silver grey screen . Now the entertainment company has decided to see if it can do the same thing on your microcomputer , TVs , and mobile phone with the creation of Blumhouse Games .
The program is to do the same thing for video game as it ’s been doing with flick for more than 20 years : Be cheap , but be scary and good . From the press release : “ Blumhouse Games will partner with main biz developers to bestow their originative vision to life via original , repulsion - theme game for console , PC , and peregrine audiences . In the flavor of its film business , Blumhouse Games will point indie - budget game ( below $ 10 M ) to enable innovation and pushing creative boundary . ”
The “ original ” part is interesting , because it implies that Blumhouse Games ’ games wo n’t be based on its many pop movie dealership , but instead utilize the same creativity the production side has brought to films by focusing on new idea instead of remake . But I do think “ original ” could also encompass game based on Blumhouse ’s “ original ” movies , if not like a shot then finally . I mean , a Dance Dance Revolution - style calendar method biz starring M3gan would be a license to print money .
