gravely . At this point , the chief cast are all reasonably much ensnared in some kind of dearest pentacle . Entwined in a fiendish macrame of making love . But mostly , Wednesday night ’s Tomorrow masses convinced me that this show is only really great when Astrid is around .

First of all , many apologies that this retread is so late . I tried to publish it yesterday , but life got in the elbow room . In any case , “ Limbo ” was a fairly fun episode , in which Stephen actually got called on his jackass behavior and the show suddenly remembered that this guy still goes to mellow school . This show still seems to be groping towards finding the right tone , but last night ’s episode felt like another step in the veracious direction .

In “ Limbo , ” Astrid talks Stephen into having some fun with his great power , but she does n’t like what he turns into as a consequence . And neither does Jedikiah , who turns off Stephen ’s mogul for about 20 minutes . Meanwhile , everybody deal with the side effect of Cara and Stephen sleep together . And there ’s a creepy raper Tomorrow Person who ’s grab cleaning lady off the street , teleporting them to a sewer , and having his style with them . Urk .

You could argue that juxtapose “ Stephen is abusing his powers to win basketball game ” with “ this raper is abusing his powers to assault women ” is kind of an odd option on the show ’s part — as is often the case in these sort of shows , the “ A ” secret plan and “ B ” plot of land sort of compliment each other , but it ’s a weird burst this clip around . Also , Stephen ’s fresh irresponsibility includes not seeming to care that there ’s a rapist out there , who needs to be caught .

On the other hand , it ’s good to see Stephen acting like a normal stripling , and the concluding confrontation between him and the raper hombre is actually pretty awful and intense . Stephen image out where the raper is , and goes after him alone , with no powers . And get his tooshie kick , basically .

In any showcase , the principal reasons to love this episode all had to do with Astrid , who ’s ass - slapping tactic is now the stuff of legend . See GiFs , viaDailyTomorrowPeople :

See ? Now THAT is a cracking moment in television .

So yeah , the love macrame … basically , Astrid hump Stephen , Stephen loves Cara , and Cara loves both Stephen and John , and John loves Cara back . And Jedikiah loves that random Tomorrow Person that we do n’t have it off much about . It ’s middling clear that Stephen does n’t deserve Astrid , who is way too awful for him . Also , Cara does n’t deserve John , who ’s basically the only decent and sensible person on this show and is constantly holler out for it .

So yes — I am make a novel ship decent here , properly now . I am ship John and Astrid . They are the two good characters on this show , and they totally merit each other . ( If you ignore that one bit where Astrid flipped out after seeing Stephen teleport from the train tracks , which was entirely out of character . ) I ’m a Jastrid shipper . ( Jastron ? )

Oh , and when Stephen was drowning after having his behind kicked by rapist guy , he watch his father in some kind of telepathic vision . So his pa is around the sewer somewhere ? Using running water ( which we just learned is a buckler against telepathy ) to hide himself ? I guess we ’ll detect out shortly .
