This stunning series of photographs byAndreas Swanereveals the decay splendor of Beelitz - Heilstätten , the “ men ’s sanatorium ” outside Berlin where Hitler recovered from war lesion during World War I. Today it could be the setting for a hospital horror motion picture .

Beelitz - Heilstätten west of Berlin , is an amazing complex of 60 abandon and derelict infirmary construction . The sure-enough buildings are from 1898 drawn by designer Heino Schmieden . The complex became a war infirmary during WW1 . In 1916 Adolf Hitler was recovering here after being shot in the leg in the Battle of the Somme . After WW2 the infirmary was lodge in by Soviet force . They go away in 1995 . The picture show ‘ The Pianist ’ was partly shot here .
