She then paused to ask Kotb, “Do you remember when I FaceTimed you when you brought Hope home?”

Kotb continued, “But I was looking back, it’s funny, at old pictures. Hope was in the bassinet andHaleywas sleeping under the bassinet. It’s like all those things. But you also realize how much you hovered over the first one.”

The moms laughed at being “dumb” and apologized to all the first-born kids on behalf of other parents because “we ruined y’all.”

“Because we were hovering,” Kotb said. “Every time they go [make a noise], ‘What is it?’ We didn’t know.”

“It’s because it was our nervousness,” Bush Hager said. “We placed all our anxiety in your bassinet, with your binky.”

Mocking, Bush Hager continued, “You want a little anxiety? Want us to wake you up all night long ‘cause we want to make sure you’re breathing?”
