Katy Perryis finally sharing the details ofOrlando Bloom‘s romanticValentine’s Day proposal!
“It was very sweet,” Perry shared. “It was Valentine’s Day … we went to dinner and I thought we were going to go see some art after dinner but we pulled up to a helicopter.”
“VeryBachelor,” Kimmel replied.
“Yeah. I’m glad I don’t have to go on that show now,” Perry responded, laughing. “It was really sweet. He asked me to marry him in a helicopter,” she said, before adding that not everything went according to plan during the proposal.
“The funny part is we had champagne in the helicopter and the [ring] box was in his pocket and he had written down everything he wanted to say on a note,” she revealed, explaining that the note was meant to divert her attention while he pulled out the ring.
“So I’m reading [the note] but I’m hearing the champagne is broken and the bottle’s everywhere … he’s pulling out this box that’s too big for his coat pocket, rips his coat pocket and his elbow goes into the champagne.”
But, eventually, the proposal did work out: “We landed on a rooftop [in Los Angeles] — my whole family was there, and all my friends,” Perry recalled. “He did so well.”
When asked who picked out herunique flower-shaped engagement ring, Perry said: “I voiced my opinions.”

The pop star also revealed details about how the two first met.
“In-N-Out plays a big role in my life,” she quipped. “We bonded over an In-N-Out burger about three years [ago] at theGolden Globes. He stole one off of my table … he took it and I was like, ‘Wait! Who — oh, you’re so hot. Fine, take it.’ ”
“And then I saw him at a party and I was like, ‘How are those onions resting on your molars?’ He’s like, ‘I like you.’ And then, you know, cut to,” Perry said, showing off her engagement ring.

“Full bloom,” she sweetly captioned the image, using a play on her husband-to-be’s name.
Bloom went on to share the same image on his own Instagram, captioning the adorable snap, “Lifetimes.”
“They’ve been talking about getting engaged for a while. After reconciling Katy has felt very secure with Orlando and they both knew it was different this time,” the source said. “They made their relationship a priority and both of them literallyflew all around the worldto keep their relationship strong.”
