Everything she drops is a banger!

Kim Petrasis back with a surprise album drop. On Monday, the pop star shocked fans when she released her albumProblématique, whichher label initially shelvedafter many of its tracks leaked online in August of 2022.

The release comes just three months after Petras unleashed her major-label debut,Feed the Beast,a sonically adventurous effort on which she experimented with different types of dance-pop. OnProblématique, though, Petras commits to cohesion. She wrote and recorded the French house-inspired dance record during the pandemic lockdown, when she longed to escape to a club in Paris.

The result: pure disco heaven.

Problématiqueis a return to form for Petras, whose tongue-in-cheek lyrics and camp delivery on the record harken back to her early singles and underrated 2019 albumClarity.

Petras will kick off herFeed the Beast World Tourin Austin on Sept. 27, and she’s expected to perform fan-favorite hits, in addition to tracks offFeed the BeastandProblématique.

“It’s what I cooked up during lockdown. And during lockdown, all I wanted to do was to escape, so I madeProblématique, which was this super Euro-pop, gay-pop explosion, which I adore and love and I’ve worked very hard on and I am very proud of,” Petras, 31, told PEOPLE of the project last year. “I hated that it leaked because it was never how I wanted people to hear it. But I’m happy that it did because it plays at parties and clubs and people love it. I love it, and it should be out there.”
