One of those said variants, Kang the Conqueror, made his MCU debut inAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniaand the first tease ofLokiseason 2 was unveiled during the film’s end-credits.

What willLokiseason 2 be about?

The two end-credits scenes forAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniaset up the second season ofLoki. In the first, we are introduced to a Council of Kangs as they decide to assemble all Kang variants in an effort to prepare for a multiversal war.
In the second end-credits scene, Loki and Mobius come in contact with a new variant of Kang. Set in the early 1900s, the variant introduces himself as Victor Timely. In the comics,Victor Timely is a version of Kangwho travels back in time and creates various advanced technology in hopes of eventually defeating the Avengers.
As Loki and Mobius watch Victor Timely’s presentation from the audience, Loki informs Mobius, “That’s him.” Not impressed, Mobius quips, “I thought you said he was terrifying?,” to which Loki replies, “He is.”
It seems as the new season ofLokipicks up, Mobius and Loki will work together to track down Kang variants through time in an effort to stop a multiversal war, potentially leading toAvengers: The Kang DynastyandAvengers: Secret Wars.

Hiddleston reprises his role as Loki, alongside Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Eugene Cordero as Casey and Tara Strong as Miss Minutes.
Additionally,Rafael Casal (Blindspotting)andKate Dickie (Game of Thrones)have been cast in undisclosed roles, per Deadline.
Jonathan Majors' return as new Kang variants was previously teased in the end-credits scene forAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The official trailer forLokiseason 2 released in July confirmed Majors will appear in the new season amidhis recent legal controversies.
When didLokiseason 2 film?

Filming reportedly kicked off in June 2022 in the United Kingdom andwrapped that October in London. As shown in set photos, some ofthe season appears to take place in the 1970sbased on the costumes seen on the characters.

Per Deadline, duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (who previously worked on Marvel’sMoon Knight) areset to co-direct a majority of the episodesfor the new season. Eric Martin is also slated to pen all six episodes.
