Princess Eugenie’s fairy tale started with dinner at an Italian restaurant.
Speaking on a new episode of theTable Mannerspodcast, the royal shared details of her early romance with Jack Brooksbank, whom she married in 2018. The couple — and now parents of two sons! — first met during a 2010 ski trip in Verbier, Switzerland, and the couple said during their engagement interview that it was “love at first sight.”
But their first date took place a few weeks later at Osteria Basilico in the Notting Hill neighborhood of London.
“You know when you text through your friends — did you ever do that?” Eugenie, 33, asked hosts Jessie and Lennie Ware. “We met through a couple, and I used to text her and Jack used to text him.”

Eugenie said the first date spot had the “best pasta” and that although she hadn’t been back for “ages,” she and Jack would go on a date soon. However, the couple is maintaining a gluten-free and dairy-free diet — Jack cut out foods to help cure his migraines, and Princess Eugenie is following it as well.
“We have boxes and boxes of it at home,” she said, further explaining that she usually orders it while out after dinner. During the meal, Eugenie would rather have a gin and tonic or a vodka soda with lime.
