Seth Rogendoesn’t want to be called a shoddy dresser while promoting his new film withCharlize Theron.
Speaking withEntertainment Tonightat CinemaCon on Thursday, Rogen, 36, opened up about how he really had to think about what he would be wearing that night — and how it would compare with what hisLong Shotcostar, the always fashionable Theron, 43, had chosen.
“I was aware that I would be standing next to Charlize for a lot of pictures,” he said, adding that he was determined to avoid the ridiculeEd Sheeranfaced earlier this year for beingwildly underdressedwhile performing withBeyoncéin South Africa.
“I always have that image in my head of Beyoncé next to Ed Sheeran in a T-shirt and I don’t want that,” Rogen shared.
Definitely dressing to impress, Rogen started off the night wearing a classic suit with a grey top underneath, which contrasted nicely with Theron’s bright yellow dress. Later that same night, the costars both changed into more statement-making ensembles, with Rogen opting to layer a contrasting floral print tie, black suit and a graphic black and yellow top.

Although Rogen was eager to avoid making a major fashion faux pas, Sheeran didn’t seem to mind the backlash he received back in February, when he chose to wear a black T-shirt and jeans for his duet with Beyoncé, who opted for an extravagant pink gown with ruffles.
In a nod to the uproar, following the performance, the singer reposted an article titled, “People Are Angry Ed Sheeran Wore a Shirt while Beyoncé Wore Couture During their Global Citizen Performance,” on his Instagram Story.
“Swipe up to ‘get the look,’ ” he wrote along with the cheeky hashtag, #dresstoimpress.
