Wells Adamsused to be a “one-tree guy” at Christmas. That was before he metSarah Hyland.
“My wife is an insane person,” theBachelor in Paradisestar, 39, jokes to PEOPLE. “I don’t put up the lights at my house. We live in Los Angeles, so we have a studio lighting company that comes and pimps our house out. …I have no idea how much this is costing her, but it’s a lot of money. We have a giant team that comes in and then she’s in charge of the inside.”
The festive undertaking continues in the interior. “We don’t have one tree, we don’t have two trees, we have three trees,” Wells adds. “We have one gaudy tree that’s in one room. Then we have one tree that just has food ornaments in the dining room. And then we have another tree in the living room or the family room. So it looks like Santa came and just sprayed all over.”
The Cocktail Collection

Adams, who was co-hosting a holiday party with fellowBiPalum Joe Amabile celebrating the launch ofThe Cocktail Collectionfrom Diageo, also opened up about throwing holiday gatherings — and Hyland’s tendency to overcommit to making side dishes.
“She’ll be like, okay, I’m going to do the mixed vegetable medley and the mashed potatoes and she does like 17 things,” Adams says of theModern Familystar, 33. “And then what ends up happening is that she only gets three done and then I have to do the rest of them. And I’m like, why did we try to do so much? Also, no one eats any of the food anyways. All you need is a good charcuterie board, some good booze and some good company. And good music.”

For that, he can count on Daniel Ellsworth, one of his “oldest friends” from when he lived in Nashville. After Sarah and Dan start drinking cocktails (espresso martini for Sarah and old-fashioned for Dan), the fun starts.
“Dan gets on the piano and they start singing show tunes,” he says. “There will be a rendition of ‘Suddenly Seymour’ for sure. Something fromRentwill be belted out. And so that’s always good. Late night sing-alongs, ‘Piano Man’ will definitely be done.”
Adams admits that he joins in, adding, “I’ll go get a guitar and be like, ‘I’m going to do this song’ and it’s very embarrassing.”
The Cocktail Collection features five ready-to-serve classic cocktails — including an Espresso Martini, Cosmopolitan, Negroni, Manhattan and Old Fashioned — in two large-format sizes, and “the quality is so good, if not better than what I can do as a mixologist,” says Adams, who served as a bartender onBachelor in Paradise. “The holidays are a f—ing in the ass anyways, let’s be honest. Let’s just try to cut down the things that we have to worry about. This is just one less thing.”
Jokes Amabile of his top party tip: “Don’t make your own cocktails.”
