After Roth posted aYouTube videoin which heranted about and mocked his former Van Halen bandmatein January, Wolfgang responded this week in a new interview with Atlanta radio showThe Morning X.
“I’m honored [Roth] even thinks about me as much as he seems to,” said Wolfgang, 32, who played bass alongside the rocker in Van Halen following founding member Michael Anthony’s 2006 exit from the band.

“You have to take what he says with a grain of salt, considering he also said that he wrote ‘Eruption’ and came up with [Eddie Van Halen’s custom guitar] the Frankenstein Strat,” continued the Mammoth WVH frontman, son of Eddie andValerie Bertinelli.
The radio program’s hosts expressed surprise at the idea of Roth taking credit for Eddie’s 1978 guitar solo “Eruption,” to which Wolfgang quipped in response: “He said he wrote all the solos that Dad wrote. I guess that’s all I can say.”
Ultimately, Wolfgang doesn’t think Roth’s issue is specifically all about him. “I seem to have been born into this Van Halen drama that has come way before me,” he said. “And now that my dad isn’t here to be a target, I guess he went to the next best thing.”

Roth’s YouTube video, also shared to his Instagram account with the caption “This F—in Kid,” opens with a fake interview that positions Wolfgang as Jesus Christ before ridiculing him for receiving an advantage due to nepotism.
“Bro, I want people to know I got this job because of my talent,” a Wolfgang impersonator says. “I would have this job anyway, even if my dad wasn’t God. I just want people to know I got this job because of my talent."

Roth claimed the younger Van Halen threw a woman out of two concerts for revenge, thinking she was Roth’s girlfriend when she was actually an accountant overseeing the tour’s payroll.
